Sugar Cookies ft. Malta Cookie Cutters

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Resting Time: 40 minutes

Cooking time: 7-8 minutes


Ingredients


  • 230 gr unsalted butter, at room temperature

  • 200 gr granulated white sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla paste or 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 450 gr all-purpose flour plus more for dusting


Method

  1. Line a baking tray with oven paper.

  2. In a standing mixer, mix the butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy.

  3. Add the egg and the vanilla.

  4. Combine the salt and the flour. Add the flour mixture to the mixer and mix until the dough comes together.

  5. Cover the dough in plastic warp and let it rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.

  6. Roll out the dough out onto a floured surface.

  7. Cut the dough with your cookie cutters. Transfer the cookies to your baking tray. Tip: Dip your cookie cutters into a generous amount of flour.

  8. Chill the cookies in the fridge for 10 minutes before baking them. While the cookies are in the fridge you can pre-heat the oven to 180°C.

  9. Bake the cookies for 7-8 minutes or until lightly brown at the edges. Let them cool completely.

  10. Enjoy :)
